Thurs/Harrahs night---meet in
Hotel lobby by 5:15 at the latest to board a Trolley and head to casino.
We must leave no later than 5:30pm Must have drivers license or photo id on
you--Leave casino at 10pm
After our return---David and gang are having a Party!!
Friday--KC bus tour--meet in hotel lobby at 1:00 PM, board bus and leave no
later than 1:30, return to hotel 3:30. Bottles of water allowed and encouraged.
Friday Meet & Greet--ballroom off hotel lobby beginning 5pm--to 11pm
Sat--ZOOOOO Day. Be In lobby at 9:00 am-ish, leave on buses at 9:45. Please
have correct change--$6.00 per person ready to pay John for Zoo before boarding
bus. Be at hippo area at 11:20am --zookeeper talk at 11:30am. Must get back to
buses and Leave zoo AT 2pm-No later!
Sat night--be in lobby at 5:30, leave on buses for BBQ at 5:45, leave BBQ at
9pm, back to hotel.
Thursday Sept 17 -- Harrah's night! Head over to Harrah's around 5:30pm, from our hotel, in a free Harrah's bus. Harrah's is working on having a reception for us, then off to the casinos! Party afterward in the hotel . . .
Friday Sept 18 -- KC bus tour
with 2 actors portraying the Russell Stover Candy people. Leaving the hotel
around 1pm, for a two hour jaunt. $23 per person.
Friday Night Meet & Greet -- Room is available from 5pm until 11pm. Catered
Buffet at 6pm, $30/person. Guest speaker, Gary Clarke, African
Safari Guide. Then hippo games, presents (see below). We will have our hippo
donation table for the kids at Childrens Mercy Hospital (thank you Dana!!), so
bring some plushies if you can.
Saturday Sept 19 -- ZOO! Leave the hotel around 9:45am. Free buses---a Blast
from the Past bus and a prison bus! From the zoo, the buses will head to
Sheila & John's to view their incredible hippo collection, and see Sunshine, the Hippie Hippo VW
lovebug/art car. (Note: Those wanting to remain at the zoo longer
will want to drive themselves to the zoo, or plan on arranging their own
transport when leaving.) From Sheila & John's, it's back to the hotel to change, rest,
meet in the bar or whatever strikes your fancy. Then around 5:00 to 5:30pm, we
will board the buses
again to head to the Kauffman Foundation building for a big BBQ (free to all
Hippolotofus, compliments of John & Sheila). Then around 10pm, back to the
hotel to do your own thing.
Sunday Sept 20 -- Open day, nothing planned at this time.

Hello fellow reunion attendees!
We will be having two games this year.
If you want to participate in the first game - you will need 1 hippo
gift. It needs to be valued at $25 or
more. It is the traditional game we have played many times where
the final name drawn will get the pick of any hippo they want.
If you want to play the second game - you need 1 hippo gift valued
at $15 or more.
Things to remember:
All Hippo-theme Gifts should be new - no white rhino rejects or
plushies allowed. Exceptions would include antiques or pottery that
is collectible, duplicates you own that others would appreciate like
hippo jewelry, hippo cookie jars, hippo statues, hand made hippo
items. Any questions - E-mail me B/C.
Please wait to wrap your gift until you are at the hotel. It will
make it easier for you when you travel. If you don't mind the
headache - then wrap before you go and deal with the lovely security
guards at the airports. Gift bags and tissue are easy. If you want
to be economical you can use the newspaper, lunch bags or toilet
tissue from the hotel. We just need the hippos covered to add
mystery and intrigue.
Please include your name somewhere in/on the gifts. Everyone likes
to know who brought what Hippo. We also know who to ask questions
about getting one for themselves, if they didn't win that
particular hippo.
Everyone is invited to play - no exclusions. If you've got the
hippo gifts then you can play any or all the games. You do not have
to play at all if you do not wish. We are one big Hippo family -
collectors/enthusiasts/

The rate should work for two days before the groups dates of Sept 17, 18, 19 &
20th and two days after. For newbies, the main days are Friday & Sat, but the
majority seem to usually arrive on Thursdays, out Sundays.
You can always cancel your reservation--by 6pm the day before your arrival date.
