When you call Central Reservations--let them know it is for the Hilton Toronto (Canada) on Richmond St.    Let them know you are with the Hippolotofus Group block of rooms and if need be, here is their code for the block:  hipp10

The great group rate is $116 plus taxes. (Canada rate)-yeah  I started with a smallish block of rooms for Thurs Sept 9th, more on Friday the 10th and the same on Sat. Some of you will be booking for Wednesday and Sunday possibly and our rate works then too.

If you have Any problems booking what you want---please email our Event Mgr, Julius.escutin@hilton.com---tell him you are with the hippo group---and your problem and he will make the reserv for you.

You have a choice of 1 king bed, or 2 doubles.   Ages 18 and younger are free.  Over 2 adults in the room there is a charge of $15.00 per person--limit 4 people sharing a room.  As always---it is a LAW, No food or drink brought in to the hotel, so HIDE it good and clean up good:-):-) (or you can get permission first):-)

Friday Night Meet & Greet at our Hotel

5:30 pm to 11pm   We are collecting in advance for this---price pays for light buffet and drinks and meeting room.  We are all sharing in the cost this year. Every person MUST pay this in advance to even enter the meeting room.

Cost is $39.50 per person, regardless of age.

Deadline to pay is:  August 13th.   No food or drink may be taken in to the room otherwise.

Friday, Sept 10th. The amphibius bus/boat will pick us up at our hotel at 1pm. Tour is 90 minutes. We have chartered this tour so that it is only our group on board!

Note--there are ONLY 40 seats, so first to pay gets on this tour.

$39.50 per person regardless of age, includes taxes.

Zoo Day and ZooMobile Info

We will be collecting in advance to save time at the zoo this year. It is too difficult to collect from everybody at the gate and give them change---plus---they owe different amounts based on age. If you want these group rates, you must pay in advance!

When you send zoo/zoomobile payments, please let us know how many you are paying for, and age group.

Zoo Day---Sept. 11th --Saturday AM.  Zoo opens at 9am, closes at 6pm. We get a 15% discount if we have 20 or more people.  They are raising zoo costs before we arrive in Sept.  Deadline to pay Stuart is:  August 13th.  

Also, for the Zoomobile that I've mentioned earlier.   This zoo is so very huge and a bit hilly.   The only means of transportation is this Zoomobile.  You get an All-day pass and they give us wristbands to wear.  You can get On and off all day.  Oh gosh, most of you sure will want this!! :-)   We get a discount if we have 20 or more people wanting a ticket. 

Zoomobile--discounted to $5.00 per person

There will be some sort of a zookeepers talk for us.  More details on that later on.

Hello fellow reunion attendees!

We will be having two games this year.

If you want to participate in the first game - you will need 1 hippo gift. It needs to be valued at $25 or more. It is the traditional game we have played many times where the final name drawn will get the pick of any hippo they want.

If you want to play the second game - you need 1 hippo gift valued at $15 or more.

Things to remember:

All Hippo-theme Gifts should be new - no white rhino rejects or plushies allowed. Exceptions would include antiques or pottery that is collectible, duplicates you own that others would appreciate like hippo jewelry, hippo cookie jars, hippo statues, hand made hippo items. Any questions - E-mail me B/C.

Please wait to wrap your gift until you are at the hotel. It will make it easier for you when you travel. If you don't mind the headache - then wrap before you go and deal with the lovely security guards at the airports/borders. Gift bags and tissue are easy. If you want to be economical you can use the newspaper, lunch bags or toilet tissue from the hotel. We just need the hippos covered to add mystery and intrigue.

Please include your name somewhere in/on the gifts. Everyone likes to know who brought what Hippo. We also know who to ask questions about getting one for themselves, if they didn't win that particular hippo.

Everyone is invited to play - no exclusions. If you've got the hippo gifts then you can play any or all the games. You do not have to play at all if you do not wish. We are one big Hippo family - collectors/enthusiasts/relatives/dog sitters/friends
