If you mail a donation and specify that it is in memory of Glen Wagers and to be used for the hippo exhibit, it *will* be used just for the hippos. If you Adopt a Hippo over the website, that money goes into the general zoo fund.

GLEN A. WAGERS
July 16, 1930-April 24, 2003

Glen passed on in peace surrounded by family and friends at Swedish Hospital Providence Campus after courageously overcoming several medical setbacks during the past eight years. Glen was born and raised in Salem, Oregon, and served in the Army in Alaska where he married Norma Bowder in 1951. Glen attended OTI in Klamath Falls and moved to Seattle with his family in 1957. As a long-time, well-respected Art Director at KOMO TV, he won three Emmys and numerous industry awards. Following Norma’s death in 1979, Glen met Sandi Stewart, and they remained together until his death. He loved hippos and has a collection numbering in the thousands. Glen is survived by Sandi; brother Bob and his wife Shirley; daughter Debra and her husband Jim Groves; son Randy and his wife Rose; grandson Mike and granddaughter Danielle and her husband Jason Sams. Glen was gentle, kind and dignified, and lived his life with enthusiasm and joy, inspiring all who knew him. Services will be held at West Seattle Christian Church on Wednesday, April 30th at 11:30 a.m., followed by committal at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Reception at 1:00 p.m. at Glen Acres Golf & Country Club. Remembrances in Glen’s honor to West Seattle Christian Church Building Fund, Journey Ministries, Children’s Hospital, Woodland Park Zoo hippos, or your favorite charity.
